Buchan has designed and delivered over three decades of renovation and expansion for ‘Chaddy’, which has earned a special place in the hearts of locals and international visitors alike.

The world-class architecture reflects the essence of a leading flagship retail centre and perfectly showcases the premium customer experience on offer at Chadstone. The crowning jewel of the centre is its 7,000sqm gridshell roof which, in some areas, allows clear spans of up to 42 metres. The roof gives the centre a light and airy feel. It is designed using 3d modelling and pieced together by hand.

With the aim of creating a centre unlike anything Australia has ever seen, the latest renovations include a larger luxury precinct for every label from Balenciaga to Valentino, space for over 100 new retailers, two new dining precincts, a Hoyts digital cinema complex, the Southern Hemisphere’s first Legoland Discovery Centre and a Tesla Motors dealership.

Over the years Buchan has worked in association with a number of design firms including CRTKL.
