Senior appointment to global design team

Buchan has appointed Peter Beaton as a senior associate. Based in Sydney, Peter will work across Buchan’s studios with a focus on supporting the interiors team in the delivery of significant large-scale projects in all sectors.

Peter is a multi-disciplinary design professional with more than 25 years’ international experience shaping luxury hotels and hospitality, high-end residential, and landmark retail and commercial spaces.

Buchan Director and Principal Anthony Palamara says Peter’s appointment reflects the growth of the practice’s high-end interiors portfolio. “Interiors are integral to our overall design approach, and having someone of Peter’s calibre and experience on board will substantially strengthen our interiors capability and help grow our top-tier offering.”

Over a career that includes 8 years in London working with designers of international renown, Peter has pursued an interest in bespoke craftsmanship, innovative lighting and eclectic design. In the UK, he worked on several spaces within luxury department store Fortnum & Mason, and on luxury single- and multi-residential projects.

More recently, he worked operator-side on the delivery of Star Casino Sovereign VIP Gaming Room (Australia’s largest private gaming room) and the Darling Harbour International Convention Centre.

“I’m drawn to projects where the detail matters as much as the vision,” notes Peter. “Whether a commercial lobby, hospitality venue, or a retail space that shapes a brand, I love creating places people connect with and remember.”

Anthony says Peter will add value for Buchan’s clients. “Peter has experience working at the scale and quality that our clients are seeking. Appointing great talent supports the culture of design excellence that we are building across every aspect of our business.”
