Metro Nuvali

More than a business district, Metro Nuvali is a new community in the making. Buchan has led the design of the brand vision, signage and wayfinding for this 200-hectare CBD in the Philippines' Rising South, working alongside AyalaLand Estates to create a destination where people, nature, and the future converge.

At Metro Nuvali, Environmental Graphic Design shapes how people experience the city. Signage and wayfinding combine art, graphics, markers and gateways, to retell the history, culture and unique character of Nuvali as people move through the city streets, laneways and spaces.

By designing discovery trails, art trails and curated journeys, the design encourages people to explore, engage and uncover the layers of the urban environment. For Metro Nuvali, EGD creates a ‘storybook for the city’, guiding guests and locals through meaningful encounters, helping them connect emotionally and spatially.  More than navigation, it’s about placemaking and belonging.

Sustainability is woven into the fabric of Metro Nuvali. Wayfinding markers, solar-powered lighting and digital kiosks communicate the estate’s environmental values, while public art and interpretive signage share the story of Metro Nuvali’s environmental efforts. The use of recycled or locally sourced materials and the involvement of local artists reduces environmental impact and supports the circular economy.

Together, these wayfinding and placemaking elements shape a visible and interactive identity for Metro Nuvali where sustainability becomes part of everyday life. They are quiet ambassadors of ecological responsibility, turning the built environment into a living narrative of green values.
