The Terraces presents a new, vibrant urban oasis with food, beverage and entertainment offerings, atop Chadstone Shopping Centre.
With vast views to the city and neighbouring parks this connection to nature is reinforced through design. A volumetric structure provides lofty, dramatic interior spaces filled with the warmth and textures of a garden oasis.
A seamless transition between spaces and an enhanced, landscaped pedestrian pathway affords patrons the time to reflect, explore and meander. The Terraces exudes relaxed energy befitting the next generation of leisure and dining precincts.
By retaining and building on top of an existing structure, the Social Quarter was able to reduce the embodied carbon impacts typically associated with demolition and construction works. A 199kW solar Photovoltaic (PV) system has been installed to the roof of the development, bolstering the precinct’s building energy performance by more than 30 percent.
Buchan collaborated with landscape architects LatStudios and Decibel Architecture on the new $70 million precinct which spans more than 10,350sqm includes a collection of 17 entertainment and sophisticated dining experiences.
