Exploring Contemporary Library Design at Geelong Design Week

The new Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library and Community Hub design story will feature during Geelong Design Week in November.

Buchan Principal Aleksander Borek will join Corrina Eccles – Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation, Vanessa Schernickau – Geelong Regional Library Corporation and David McCartney, City of Greater Geelong for a conversation guided by Marsha Uppill – Director/Co-Founder, Arranyinha.

The panel discussion will explore the unique design aspects of the new library and in particular the incorporation of Wadawurrung cultural elements and stories into the design of the building, such as the ‘living water’ narrative, as well as aspects of community programming and social activation for a new community.
