Ipswich Public Library has been shortlisted for the Public Space category in the 2021 Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA).
The new Ipswich Library is part of a significant city renewal development forming the connective tissue between the city and river. The design rethinks the introverted traditional library experience, instead creating an environment that fosters transparency with the outside world promoting a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.
The Central Library, complemented by a dedicated Children’s Library that situated nearby, provides a community centric design offering a purpose-built library specifically for its patrons to read, connect, immerse and focus.
Buchan has worked closely with the Ipswich City Council and local community over many years to realise this City’s vision though the development.
