Put a layer of beaten almond meal over the dough (this will soak up the moisture coming out of the apple and will prevent Almond meal, for sprinkling the bottom from getting soggy).1kg Granny Smith apples Peel and chop apples, place in bowl and add the 2 tsp cinnamon cinnamon, allspice, dark brown sugar and a few drops of lemon juice and mix well.1 tsp allspice Roll out the remaining dough and cut it into strips 50g dark brown sugarto cover the top of the cake.
